Mixed Feelings
Magi is an anime inspired by arabian night tales, it starts out all and well with an interesting plot line and intriguing deep characters. The story follows as Alibaba and Aladdin meet and form a strong bond together over the course of the series. However, towards the middle of the series the plot becomes hazy and you're not sure where things are going and suddenly the show ends.

The series had a huge potential to explore more of the characters and their development, however as watchers we end up getting introduced to potentially important characters towards the last 3 episodes. Which is quite shameful in consideration to what the series could offer for more entertainment. 25 episodes are just simply not enough even if there is an upcoming sequel the rushed events that happened within the actual show leave you hanging, wondering about the details and also bitter feelings towards the shortness and rushed events of the show. The show does however explore the arabian 101 theme differently and gives it a new twist that captured me as a watcher.

Story wise the show's decent but it wasn't executed correctly (in the anime at the very least), personally I would have preferred to see more of the characters and for the author to just simply focus on one potential goal for the show instead of many events happening and no decent end result.

The art for the show is alright. Nothing special or outstanding about it to make it stand out. The sound also is medicore at best. There weren't any decent tracks that catch the watchers interest. However the soundtrack was at least matching with the events so it receives good points for that. The play with arabian elements in the tracks is also executed decently albeit their unoriginality.

The overall enjoyment of the show is alright considering the fact that the arabian 101 theme has already been overused. Kudos to the author however for giving it a new twist and creating intriguing characters at the very least. I'm sure the events are more outstanding and more detailed in the manga so yes the anime at least opens that one door that makes you want to at least see these events by reading.

Overall I'd say the show is fairly watchable. It held my interest at least till the very end.
