At first, I find this movie interesting because of how the main cast Rei, Asuka and Shinji overcome their problems and there is this monster fighting scene which is very exciting. However, the plot is totally messed up and I don't understand what is going on at all. The second half of the movie shows random scenes. Basically some reviewers think that this movie is about how horrible and tragic both Asuka, Rei and SHinji's life were. However, I just couldn't dwell in the story and the cast because of how hateful Asuka and SHinji were. Not only that the confusing plot.
Asuka is aggressive and sometimes very mean while Shinji is a coward who couldn't face his problems properly. These symbolism in this movie really bored me a lot and it is quite offensive. I wouldn't go into too detail.
Overall, it was more confusing than the anime itself and I really cannot get into it. There was actually no character development at all, just random scenes taken. So basically, that's it.

I realised that Shinji is the most despicable person because when Asuka is in danger, he didn't save her. He just bawls in the corner crying for regretting being born and hates the world. I just can't believe he ruined the show for me.
