Story - 6
The story was fair enough at least with the premises we have, which I would break down to zombies, high school students and boobs.
The plot is fairly simple, and it's a good thing they kept it that way.
Don't get me wrong here, we are talking about a horror show with zombies in the main seat.
That's why you don't really need a good plot, what you really need is a good load of bullets, and lots of good actions scenes, and in this case a shitload of fan service.
Breaking it down, the story is fair enough for this type of show, so I'll give it a 6.
Art - 8
The artwork was overall very good, if I have to put my finger on something, it would be the unattractive hair they put on Rei and Saya. Besides that the art was top notch.
Sound - 10
Note that I've watched the show only with the English dub.
The sound is some of the best I've ever heard in an anime. The voice acting was very good. And the background music fit perfectly.
Talking about music, the OP is one of my all time favorites, however I didn't enjoy the ED as much.
Character - 6
The characters in this show were fair enough, they were mostly nice and enjoyable, but that way to ditzy nurse Shizuka got on my nerves.
If you're looking for character development you won't find much of that here, while I did notice some development throughout the show, it's nothing major.
Aside of that I really enjoyed the personality they gave to Kouta, with him around, the show never became boring. I also enjoyed Saeko and Takashi, and I unfortunately couldn't really enjoy the others as much.
Enjoyment - 9
I really enjoyed HOTD, and I've watched it multiple times afterwards. I don't really have much to say here, but they always kept me interested, and I'm still hoping for more, as this is one of my favorite shows ever.
Overall - 8
This is a show I would recommend to any zombie lovers out there I know, especially if they have some history with anime.
They did make mistakes, but I don't really blame them, in this case I think it's pretty much about the prioritizing that was given to the different aspects of the show.
