I felt drawn to the characters and I kept watching to see how their adventures will turn out. Things start out small, but will spiral out of control and their world turns upside down.
The music is fantastic, I actually listened to the ending song instead of skipping it. Art and drawing is high quality, they didn't cut any corners.
It also has a Japanese feel to it, as in you can see parts of Japanese society in the village and in the characters. An example is having a strictly controlled society.
