I find it funny. When I started watching this anime 2 seasons ago, I dismissed it as a "filler shounen". I usually left the episodes for last, and only watched them when I really had nothing better to do, maybe a week or two after they aired. I didn't expect anything other than some guys fighting some other guys because they wanted to destroy the world, or something.

One friend asked me if he should watch this when it was at around episode 4, and I distinctly remember telling him "It's building up a really weird world, however compared to the rest of the shows I'm watching now it's pretty mediocre, so I'd probably recommend you watch something else."

THEN stuff started happening. Suddenly, a show I thought would be pretty mediocre all the way started to build up a pretty great world, filled with mystery, suspense and even some comedy, and by the end of the second arc I was at the edge of my seat, and it was one of the few shows these past seasons I couldn't really wait for more.

Since then, there hasn't been a bad episode. They all have been pretty amazing. All the plot twists, all the Shakespeare and so on, this show's universe is quite unique and I loved the show because of it.

And now, I'm really sad it's ended. I rarely have "Post Anime Depression", but when I do those are usually the shows I really love. This one qualifies. Were it a theatrical play, I'd still be clapping. It's just that... I grew attached to the characters and the world.

Well, with all that said, there's no way I could give this show anything other than a 10/10 and a heartfelt recommendation to anyone who cares to ask. It sadly doesn't get a spot on my top 5, but it's close. I'd probably have to give it sixth or seventh place in my "all-time top anime list" if MAL allowed us to pick more than 5.
