story:
btooom isnt like all the action anime out there. sure it had the cliched "trapped on a deserted island fight to the death" scenario but it offered a twist of bombs instead of guns which i think was quite original and just interesting. also the different types of bombs also added that variety which was 1 of the many little tweaks that made this anime enjoyable. the video game based survival game upped some points as it want just random fighting. there were rules and various mothods of fighting depending on your bomb type. 8/10
art:
art was well done. Ryouta looked much better in the anime compared to the manga. the environment was drawn pretty good and there was quite some detail in the buildings. The water was great and the physics were also good. some characters were drawn better than others but not all the characters could be masterpieces. 8/10
sound:
i never really pay attention to sound in anime but judging from my overall experience, i didnt find much fault. the opening song was amazing (its my ringtone lol) and it really suit the anime. explosions were fine but it was no christian bale movie. voice acting was good. i didnt see any major problems with it. 8/10
character:
i think this is what really made this anime what it is. the characters were all unique with different backgrounds. i dont want to spoil anything but trust issues and betrayal added the extra drama in this anime. ryouta's expertise at the online game really brought out his strength though he was apprehensive about killing. his knowledge on the gameplay and various tactics he used made the action scenes seem as if he was in control even if he was losing. sanity was also tested in the characters and some handled it better than others.i really hated the bad guy and i just wanted to punch him in his face (in other words, they did a good job in establishing an antagonist) The characters had interesting backgrounds that really makes you wonder how the creators put such an ensemble on an island but nevertheless, all the characters, relevant or not all played a role in the overall enjoyment of the anime....some more annoying than others.8/10
enjoyment:
overall i really enjoyed this anime. it had me counting down each week for a new ep to come out and after every ep, i wanted more! if ur looking for a quick action anime without a heavy storyline that makes ur head explode, then btooom is a good choice. i really liked all the strategies and the thought process in the battles and the story was great. 9/10
