Btooom! (Anime) add (All reviews)
Feb 10, 2013
Probable one of the least physiological, physiological-anime's I have ever seen, with only a few scenes where you actually want to go in and ******* kill the people for doing some messed up ****, but all in all, it was kinda fresh from where I stand, being the first survival-type-anime I have ever watched. Ok, now on with the review...

Story: 7/8 of 10

A newish story with some very good execution, but it shows very well how people give up and break so easily given the situation, some coincidences are way to far from normal, meeting a highschool ex-friend whom you nearly killed, and a girl you only knew online who almost kills you, but it was all-in-all quite refreshing.

Art & Sound: 8.5/10

The art was different from your typical anime, but it was not a bad thing, the art was very good and clean, with attention to detail in the ruins and jungles, the sound was good, and it was very suitable for the scenes. The opening (no pain, no game) is probably my favorite OP, but the ending does not really suit the theme, being a nice and soft piano song.

Character: 8

This had development going for it, because people do snap and go mad easily, or change to trust people quicker. You can't really relate to any of the MC's, as they all did some stupid **** or just messed up so monumentally that I have never seen anything like it. It is nice to see how they start to get closer even during the hell of the game.

Overall I recommend this anime for people who have quite a strong heart, as this sometimes will disturb the feint-hearted , but it is full of action and adventure, overall I give this anime a 8/10 for the awesome themes and cool setting.
