This is my first review on MAL so i decided to give you guys some thoughts on an anime thats relatively simple yet highly enjoyable. Despite the obvious shoujo vibes, maid sama is a show that can be enjoyed by anyone. The characters are funny and the plot is lighthearted and heartwarming. I personally feel that Misaki is a great protagonist. She isn't your generic shy, brainless high schooler as depicted in many shoujos. She's hardworking and stubborn, refusing to allow Usui to distract her personal goals. Her determined and levelheaded personality is refreshing, and watching it clash with Usui's aloofness is hilarious. The real appeal of the show is watching Misaki and Usui struggling to balance and figure out how to act around each other, even though as audiences we see how they complement each other so perfectly. The side characters also enhances the plot pretty well, and creates more laughs. It's one of the better romances around.
I highly recommend Kaichou wa maid sama! if you're looking for something lighthearted and fun or if you're just getting into anime because it's definitely worth a watch.
