Usually an anime that wants to become everything usually would result to self-destruction such as “Kyou kara Maou!” and “Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou;” you will find yourself lost whether you are in Yaoi land, magic school or the battle field.

Kuroshitsuji had successfully infiltrated those odds and developed into something ingenious.

”Victorian, British, musical, folklore…

Comedy, drama, yaoi, relationships…

Demons, death, blood, violence…

Shonen, battles, supernatural, mystery, heroes and villains…”

Story (8/10)

There is a saying, “expect the unexpected.” This sums up everything about the story. The different genres were utterly blended together in perfect harmony. Unlike others who would leave the dish half-cooked, Kuroshitsuji will serve it precisely as a perfect butler would. Although the story has a striking resemblance to Hellsing, they gave it their own finishing touches that actually have a different sensation.

Art (6/10)

The Art is admirable but not quite distinctive from other anime but the way they created the characters definitely indubitably accommodated the era and the personalities of each characters. The eye marking is undeniably unoriginal and the pentagram on Sebastian’s hand greatly resembles the ones in Hellsing but other than that, it is quite a catch, especially the butler whose face you cannot forget.

Sound (10/10)

The music is discernibly pure perfection as your heart starts throbbing to the melody and quivers throughout your entire body. The sweet melodies are perfectly in sync with the Victorian era while the thrilling battle music gives your heart a double pounding.

Character (10/10)

The varieties and distinctiveness of the characters and the driving force it causes to the entire story itself. The hell of a phrase in this anime not only suits the character perfectly but it is also quite contagious and you would find yourself transforming into his very form. They also successfully pulled a barrier between the serious main characters from the rest who are quite the opposite. Although they are quite the serious type, they would find a way through your subconscious and make you laugh. The balance between serious and funny, childish and mature, good and evil are perfectly rolled up into this intriguing anime.

*Overall, the anime is unique in a way at the same time unoriginal…quite the irony. The final moments is quite the shocker but at the same time you would feel something missing but in the end, it has one of the most beautiful endings in any anime that I have seen.

I recommend you to see Kuroshitsuji II. If you find this a dull or boring, the next season is a hundred times better because of the added psychological feel and seriousness.
