At first the story may seem kind of confusing and cliche at some parts, but after the first 7-8 episodes, you will throw your doubts away. The story is actually really interesting and has many twists and turns which will keep you wanting more and eager for the next episode. The story basically starts of with one character (Mahiro) wanting revenge for his sister death, and another character (Yoshino) who basically follows Mahiro and also wants to stop the black iron syndrome. Honestly, when i read the summary for the first time, it sort of reminded me of "Guilty Crown" which is another show that i started to like, but over time got more and more disappointed with it because of it's lack of proper story telling and the amount of questions left unanswered at the end. Zetsuen No Tempest is the exact opposite, it starts of mild but then gets stronger and stronger over time. I am definitely excited with that the story holds in the future.
Characters -->10
The character design in the show was simply amazing, each character has amazing personalities. Even if they are complete opposites, Mahiro and Yoshino are still best friends but they still keep many secrets from each other, which I feel would lead to a great plot twist in the near future. The character development is also very interesting, it makes you feel the characters pain and helps you understand them. Its something with these two characters, Mahiro and Yoshino that draws you towards them. The Character have so much depth, that I feel that there is still a lot we need to learn about them.
Art -->9
The art in this show is also pretty good as well, it has good character designs, and very nice animation for when the action scenes occur and the back drops are just amazing. you could tell that a lot of detail was put into the design of the show. If you have seen some of the new shows such as guilty crown, and sword art online, you won't be blown away because it looks similar to other animes, but it still is amazing.
Overall if you are interested in a show where you need to concentrate, and also requires a lot of your focus, Zetsuen No Tempest is prefect for you. It has a good mix of action and dialogue scenesm and both action and dialogue are amazing, un like some shows where the action is amazing but dialogue is boring and dull *cough* guilty crown *cough*. I highly recommend this show, and it seems like the perfect time to start it since the 2013 winter season seems kind of boring, so it is a perfect time to catch up or start a new show.
Overall, I give Zetsuen no Tempest a rating of 9/10. Enjoy.
