Mixed Feelings
What makes a good anime? this is a controversial question and purely hypothetical as everyone is to their own tastes. But what we can all agree is the building blocks behind this is the character development, story, pacing and most of all its structure. unfortunately while adequate to support itself it doesn't keep a sturdy flow.

the social standings of the characters doesn't make sense despite their circumstances. for example, you have the main character,Makoto Ito, who every girl in the same room seems to fall head over heels in love with him yet somehow he only seems to interact with a max of 5 people over the course of the series (thinking about it, that actually might be accurate). Next up, a shy yet cute large breasted girl, Kotonoha Katsura, who later takes a quantum leap in confidence so horrible it makes you wonder if she has a split personality. and then there's Sekai Saionji who is a parallel of the previous, mainly being flat chested and being immensely popular which seems to have no source yet we learn to accept this. then there's the others who don't really do much other than fill their stereotypes (yes the perv best pal and the nosy outcasts and even the silent one are all present).
This is a brief yet surprisingly wholesome summary to the main characters whose relationships are insanely twisted up through the course of the series.

Next up, is the pacing of the series. I honestly can't really go over the issue without going into depth in the story because while this maintains the idealism of milestones, the writing is very blurred so that at times you have to double take to remember the motive behind the actions. If I could frame the pacing as a scenario, think of a 4 year old in a supermarket. one second its completely obvious, then they leg it down the aisle disappearing from view until the customer service desk shouts across the entire store, bringing them back and with them, satisfaction and joy.

the strongest point of the series is easily its ending not just the pointless episodes of 7-10 have finally come to a end but because it hits a high note and brings closure to all the loose ends.

I give this anime a 6/10 as it has potential in story yet doesn't quite have the character development or charisma to back it. but still shines through in that the some of the problems that are tackled are very difficult to portray yet manage to frame scenarios, emphasized as they may be. If you can take the time to look past the obnoxious characters, I can promise that the underlying psychological aspects in the story will make you take a wider overview on the idea of social acceptance of relationships
