Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom is a remake of three part ova sires Phantom the animation. When i went in to this show i wasn't expecting much but then i so that the writer is GEN UROBUCHI known for madoka magica and fate zero my hopes jumped high up. But from the three shows i have watched from Urobuchi i can say i was disappointed with this one it had the potential to be a great show but it made a lot of mistakes in the final part that made it almost unwatchble.
STORY
The plot in phantom is split in three parts it tells the story about a young boy who gets adopted from an organization called inferno and becomes an assassin for them partnered with another assassin called ein also known as phantom, Thats the summary of the show with out any spoilers. Its your basic plot for an assassin show a young boy gets adopted by an organization he has some talent for killing and has no choice but to join the organization or either be killed but after he starts to see that what his doing is wrong that's when the plot starts moving and i have to say when i was watching it til episode 15 i was enjoying this show i would gave it a 9 if i rated it for the first 15 episodes but than comes Cal aka the bitch and the third part that was very rushed compered to the other parts and made the finale be very easy to predict.
CHARACTERS:
This is by far the weakest part of the show the only character that was interesting was the main character but even he is very generic, ein on the other hand is an interesting character but never developed and we never find out about how she becomes an assassin, and Cal aka the bitch for me is one of the most annoying characters in anime. The other are your typical characters for a mafia based show.
ART:
The animation its very good and the action is fluid and the characters look very realistic and the world looks realistic but it has some stiff animation in some of the episodes.
SOUND:
The music in phantom is also one of the better parts in the show also the sound effects are very good and the guns sound like guns. But there are some moments where the music is over used and distracts you from the plot
OVERALL:
Overall Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom is a good assassin anime but it didn't diliver in the end to make it a great anime but if your a fan of action assassin and mafia stories you will enjoy it and it almost 2013 so i will be generous and give this anime a 7/10 and for all those who are reading this review HAPPY NEW YEAR.
