Honestly, I'm pretty biased when it comes to shows because I prefer to watch Romance only; when I saw that it wasn't under Romance, I was pretty hesitant to watch it. But when I finally did decide to watch it, I wasn't at all disappointed.
The mystery and the urge to try and solve the cases with the characters was what I liked the best. The whole story plot is not something that you would normally see in anime. And although it wasn't listed as a Romance, there is a bit of romance within the story. Also, the characters were not only likable, but relatable. I absolutely fell in love with Oreki Houtarou due to his similarities with myself (call me vain（ ´∀｀）).
Although I love this anime and think it's one of the best I've ever watched, I did find it a bit overwhelming. I found it slightly overwhelming, not because of the story itself, but because of the thoughts it gave me about my own self. I don't know if it's because I'm slow or if I was too immersed within the show, but I felt a bit ignorant while watching it wondering why I hadn't figured out the cases as well as the characters did...but you do have to keep in mind that it is only a show, and that you shouldn't take it so seriously.
Overall, this anime was great. It's different and enjoyable. This anime gives you something to think about while giving you the amusement of your normal romantic comedy. I absolutely recommend it to anyone.
