The characters are the strong point of the series. There is no one character you can pick as a favorite - they're all sympathetic, they're all very multi-layered. They all feel /human/. You want them to get through this, all of them, because they feel just like you do. And when you know there's no way they can all make it and the world can still be all right...
Pandora Hearts puts /your/ heart right through the ringer, but you keep coming back because there's just that something about it. Even if you're not a tragedy-hound, you'll come back. You /need/ to.
I'd go on for days if I could, but since I can't say two words without them being a spooiler, I won't do that.
