Story: First half is filled with generic high school slice of life with a bit of mystery/politics scenes here and there. The politics really appealed to me which was great, though it can get a bit confusing. Then it went full battle mode.
Art: Not too bad, no nasty CG, fight scenes were mostly fluid, no signifigant horrifying quality scenes were observed. But the artwork was average which drags the points down. Also breasts only come in 2 sizes in this anime: Extra extra large and extra small. Also unnecessary fanservice.
Sound: Can the soundtrack get any more FABULOUS than this? Unbelievably god like. Still listening to the soundtrack right now. Op/end were average so -1.
Character: The MC isn't a dense fool with 7 girls chasing after his man object like to love ru, and the girls aren't tsun like ZnT or SnS. MC isn't average fighter getting stronger after training arc like every shonen manga. But the DARKNESS past bothers me as generic. There are a lot of characters which gets confusing since you end up saying "who was that again?" frequently. Though the author did a good job making and presenting each character's uniqueness.
Rant: It is a LN adaption (Why is even called a light novel when the book is harry potter thick), and the LN series hasn't ended so I'm not expecting to see a finale/ending any time soon within the next 7 years. Or they might pull a ZnT and just trash the ending but the LN is still running (Which I don't see happening luckily since DVD/BD sales are pretty high).
