This is easily one of the most heart touching Anime I've ever seen. It's beautifully done in every possible way. It starts of showing how a group of friends from their younger years drift apart after one of their friends died several years ago. The grief starts again when Jintan sees hallucinations of her, she starts talking to him as if shes really alive. The story is amazingly written, it touches everyone who has ever felt grief, jealousy or love. The artwork was outstandingly animated, the main "ghost" character Menma was unique and adorable. The other characters expressing individuality through their small splashes of personality in how they look.

Moving onto the sound, the soundtrack really got me. Especially the final episodes "Secret Base" song, I listened to it over and over and just remember the characters and what happened. The music really added to the feeling of knowing them like they were your best friends. The characters were far by some of the best I've seen. Their personalities perfectly clashed with each other, all of them expressing feelings in different ways. I'm positive at least one of the characters could be relate-able to you. My enjoyment for this Anime was immense, I cried, I laughed and I loved with each of the friends. It doesn't have enough popularity for what it is, It's a hidden gem, in fact I think I'd put it over Clannad in the way that it emotionally captures you. It takes but eleven PERFECT episodes to convey the feelings Anime like Clannad and Air had to convey in at least 20 episodes.

Please I ask you to take eleven episodes out of your day and just watch it non stop. Its amazing and I think has now become and Anime staple I shall return to watching again and again just to experience the desirable friendships and emotions between the characters.
