Let's jump right into it, and as starters i would like to say not enough episodes.
I really liked this and i would like to see the characters develop even more, but if they got to do that there is also the risk that they are not as unique any more.
I love the characters and to meaning behind the very random storyline.
I am known on some other sites to have a "Golden eye" to find a meaning behind a very blunt, non-thinking and weird storyline.
Some of my friends liked how to Satou was strong, confident and how all the girls looked up to him. But that's not true. After what i can see it's actually the other way around. Yes the girls may like him, but at the same time they fond over him like a caring mother. And if you look close enough does not argue over him being a "barkling/dog" (beginner). It's only at the end he tries to reverse it and tries to be the caring parent. And more episodes could reveal if he tries to reverse that with all the people or just for Yarizui.
While Satou being the most twisted person, we also have Oshiro who makes the series seem less serious, in other words, she is the supporting character that only exists as a joke, to lighten the mood, and hide the true plot from all none "Golden eye" anime-lovers.
One of the best things with this series is the pride theme of it all. The titles wolves, dogs, pigs and so on, are the things that actually are hard to find in a lot of other series. You could relate it to the military these days, but that doesn't seem fair. I think it's more psychological than that, again with the Satou who is called "barkling", he is a wolf though, because i obeys the rules, have gotten a bento and even a title. Yet they call him "barkling", and he doesn't argue over it, that is because he knows that he isn't as strong as everybody else, he starts out relying on them, and it ends up with one person actually relies on him. And that second he probably would begin calling himself a wolf, instead of dog. Because wolves may hunt together, but it is always survival of the fittest.
Enough with the story and character.
The art is right now a very common and popular style. It makes more people want to watch it.
The sound are great because a times when it gets serious, they cut background music of and it suddenly hits you how serious that moment is.
I loved it, and pretty much anybody could do that, ecchi lovers, comedy fans, serious viewers, action people and normal people who cares for all genres. It contains all genres, and the hiddes slice of life makes it perfect for people who liked fx. Clannad because it has its moments that comedy fans would not could see because of it's clever disguise.
Overall everybody would could love it, and it is a really brain-crusher for those who loves slice of life and the principal of pride.
So the scores are high and it would could turn all ways with a new season.
