Preliminary (17/25 eps)
i'm waiting for the eclipse fansubs, so i haven't seen 18 yet.

everyone who's here probably knows the most basic plot of the story (who watches season two before one anyway?)

first of all, R2 happens a year after the first season. we were all left hanging then, weren't we? but because i don't like spoiling people, my review is going to be pretty limited on the details.

well, Sunrise is back, with more extreme mecha, and definitely more action than before. the characters we love (and those we love to hate) are also back with a vengeance.

we have new plot twists and sometimes confusing plot holes. but none so great the mecha fall through them.

what i like about code geass is that you never get outright good or bad characters (so like clamp, i keep thinking, even though they only designed the charas). you get a view of morality that so many other people nowadays do not see. there is no bad or good, there is only your perspective of bad and good. what is bad for you might be the exact opposite for another person. (take a.. real life war going on right now which i will not name for political reasons, but nevertheless will say that i am against.)

in code geass, we delve into the psyche of the characters, what makes them tick, what motivates them, what is their passion for doing what they're doing now (and i assure you there are plenty of revelations here!)

in season 1, lelouch's motivation was pretty simple. destroy britannia, avenge mummy, and make nunnally a new happy world from scratch.
but what about in R2? like it or not, he's bound to become attached to the otbk. will he abandon them once he accomplishes his agenda? will THEY abandon him if they realize he's really a britannian prince? what about his brothers and sisters? his father? what about suzaku?? and worse, nunnally?
his world has now expanded from just revolving around revenge, suzaku and nunnally, to include his ashford friends and the otbk.

what if accomplishing his goals means abandoning everything he cares about? what are his goals? are they still the same ones he had before?

and lastly, what is CC's wish?

code geass r2 answers those questions.

from the looks of it, this season is probably going to be the last. better grab your copy now before the seeds disappear, lol.i'm having trouble finding seeds for season 1 (i only have gg fansubs and they won't play on my dvd player).

but if you ask me, this is definitely one worth watching. and when i finally achieve my dream of learning japanese and go to japan, i will most definitely buy an original copy. if it's still there (D:)

on the fansubs page, i think eclipse is the best. no offense to others, but this is the only one that can play directly in my dvd player (an actual one so i can watch it on tv), so it's the one i get.
