Unlike Fate/zero you can't feel connected to all the servants, not all their stories are told and some remain unknown heroes, it might be intentionally like this, but personally i miss this connection.
Many loose ends from Fate/zero are being resolved here.
If you liked the battles and action in Fate/zero and it's the only reason you are going to watch Fate/stay night, than don't bother watching, although there are battles in it, it's definitely not the reason to watch this anime.
I really liked this but if it has to be compared to its prequel than it is definitely going to lose.
