I liked the first half of this series, but it will start to lag 15th-up. But the positive points first, i love the apocalyptic atmosphere, the whole gattaca-them where ppl are divided into classes and outside the perfect world of Romdo is a wasteland which is pretty much what's left of earth. The character design is well done, reminds me of BONES, especially when Vincent Law had a remarkable face lift after he fully awakens the proxy. Re-l Mayer's character art wonderfully fits her personality where she keeps a snobbish/elitist facade but soon learns to genuinely care about the ppl around her. I also love the chemistry between her and Vincent Law, as well as Pino who breaks the ice often to the desolate and gloomy plot. I didn't give it a perfect score because it's one of those animes that tries to make a 'complete' sense of the mess it made but will not deliver a very satisfying ending, instead leaving the viewer still in the dark, to pull out majestically from the twists and heavy metaphors and make sense of it to the viewer -is to my opinion what makes a genius storytelling. The atmosphere is also muted if not, ominous almost has the word 'kicka**' in the EP world. xD Lastly, I highly recommend Shinsen subs release as they have several neat notes/tidbits at the end of each episode that help ALOT to better understand the show... that some claim it is the best labor of love from the said group. Overall, Ergo Proxy is worth to check out.
