One of the things that stood out about Spice & Wolf was that it took broad themes such as religion, politics, economics, fantasy, as well as romance, and organized it into this wonderful package. Both Lawrence and Holo's characters developed nicely as the plot progressed, which really gave you a feel for the characters. A rarity about this anime, is that regardless of whether you watch it in English dub or sub, it is still very well done. The VA in the English dub specifically was god tier, and fit the characters spot on.

An honourable mention about this anime as well is that the colour pallet used makes the scenery, the characters, and art work absolutely gorgeous. Especially in 1080p
