So the story would seem sufficiently standard women with pseudo monster abilities fighting actual monsters. The plot is a little deeper than that tho, it follows a good portion of origins for the existence of these hybrids and why the main character is what she is. I actually loved the origin story portion of the series and that's where most of my ratings come from. I was drawn more to finding out why than actually caring about the hunt for revenge.
The action sequences are wonderfully done and i can say that having been a fan of some of the better action based anime. The characters themselves kinda look very bland tho, pasty and uniform like the species is nearly 90% supposed to be. The music was well selected for the show and it really added to the depth of atmosphere in battle i feel.
i give claymore a solid 7, its Good and could have been Great. Hopefully they will green light a 2nd season one day. We will see, so check it out and if you find it intriguing there's always a manga to get you to the end.
