Yes, there is love, but this anime focuses on more than just love and high school life. It focuses on life itself. The characters' ways of thinking about life makes you wonder what life is really about and the reason why different things happen. It shows that the world itself is complicated and may have many secrets. After watching this anime, I became pretty "life obsessed" and never saw the world as I did before. Clannad shows the many troubling life factors in the world and that falling in love has more complications than it sounds.
The art is really beautiful. I loved the way that all the characters looked, making them different, but the same. And the sounds! The sounds (music and voices) were really wonderful. Clanand's music really gives off a soft, warm kind of feeling. The opening and closing songs were really touching and sweet.
The characters were all different and I liked that. It showed that everyone has their own problems and that it wasn't only one person who suffered. I won't give any spoilers, but most of the character's lives were really sad.
Overall, I really enjoyed Clannad. It taught about life and its complications and mysteries that we may never solve. Clannad was tragic and funny so that it didn't just give off a single feeling but multiple feelings. It really deserved the 10.
