Story" 8/10
The anime is about Kawabuchi, Sentarou and Nishimi, Kaoru and their devolopment threwout the episodes of building there friendship and love of jazz music. There is a romance between the two with Mukae, Ritsuko and it's well built mostly between them.
Characters" 10/10
I just loved all of them and could not get enough of them especially Kawabuchi, Sentarou. But, Nishimi, Kaoru, really was a true jerk threw out the anime. His character made me upset countless times.
Art" 10/10
Beautifully animated with a unique style. I loved every episode and each episode was full of life.

Not since Beck have a heard music done so well.
Enjoyment" 10/10
I enjoyed the romance, Jazz and the cry's and fights between these characters. They made me believe life is not easy and there is always struggles throughout.
Overall score" 10/10
My review is short but I felt I needed to write a quickie for this anime. I once thought music anime was boring and dull. But not since Beck and now Sakamichi no Apollon have I said I will never underestimate the generation again. If you have a love for music in general you owe it to yourself to watch Sakamichi no Apollon.
