However while i watched this show i found more reasons than one to watch this besides the violence. i found that the mystery and suspense along with the violence made watching this show very enjoyable and almost addicting. at the end of the first arc u will b left wondering "why this happened" And at the end of each arc a bit of the mystery will be solved, and you will be ready to watch more.
the characters are cute, which contrasts "innocence" and "psychotic"the art for the first season isnt anything super special but the art in the second season(higurashi no naku koro ni kai) is greatly improved from the first. i enjoyed how the emotions on the character's faces were clearly expressed. it added a lot to many of the scenarios
the soundtrack is very fitting. Especially with intense scenarios. i enjoyed sub more than dub but thats just my opinion.
the characters are great. each of them are developed very well with each arc. each of them have dark secrets and their secrets affect the way they act throughout the show.
i thoroughly enjoyed this anime when i watched it and it still remains as one of my favorites. there was never a dull or boring moment and i was always in suspense.
overall this show is entertaining, suspenseful, thrilling, and much deeper than only violence. if u like psychological thrillers this is one of the best
