This was certainly different as it didn't have any larger then life themes or cut-and-paste character personalities. It was just normal people dealing with unusual but normal situations and it was pulled off relatively well. I wish the ending was different but it Really captures the complexity of relationships and how once you screw up, things don't always go back to the way things were. She doesn't get the guy she wanted but it's still somewhat satisfying in the end; a very realistic drama.
