School days - "simple story getting crazier with every episode" I would say if I were to review this in one sentence. While the plot is all about main character, Makoto Itou, becoming a bigger asshole with every minute, this anime provides decent - nothing more - entertainment when you're really bored and don't know what to do having too much free time.
Entertainment is only one of many factors that should be taken under consideration while rating anime, though. What if one anime has nothing more to offer that some poor display to kill time? That is what I can say about School Days. Well, at least the female characters were quite enjoyable, I could say. But let's not cheat ourselves - if there's no good points to it, what's the proper moral from this anime? Of course, not every single has to deliver one, but when there's nothing more to School Days than a poor time killer, it could at least teach us some wisdom, right? But the makers fail at it as well.
Besides - seriously - if I want to watch porn, I could just type some other stuff in my browser, right? No need to sneak in like that.
Okay, the moral actually is there, and it's something like that : don't play with other person's feelings. There are dozens of better anime to teach that. But the way it's presented here, the way it's shown to us... I just sat there with my eyes and mouth opened wide.
There is another moral that can be clearly seen (maybe that was the point... Who knows) I present :
Don't be a jerk if you don't want to lose your head.
