I'll be honest: At first, I thought Ao no Miburo would contain some great fights in samurai period, something that i really enjoy watching at times. However, I got a bit disappointed. Why? Because this show is literally 90% monologues or conversations and 10% fighting. Or to say it more correctly, it starts with fight and I'm like "Ohhh that's cool! What'll happrn next?" . And then...blah blah blah for the biggest part of the episode.
Why? Just...WHY? And when I decide to skip it because I'm bored...BOOM! A fight out of nowhere! And I'm like:"Well, I'll give it one more chance". Honestly, I don't know what to feel about Ao no Miburo.
But of course it has its good stuff too: The art style is not that bad, the characters are well written in my opinion and it has both the comedy and the action element when needed. Even if it's more like a slice of life with a bit of action (If you've watched Powerpuff girls you'll understand the joke). And of course let's not forget the music! SPYAIR is a great band and the opening song is something else. But still, that's not enough to convince you to watch it,right?
To make things short, if you want to watch an anime that has to do with samurai period, but with not too much bloody fights and violence, Ao no Miburo is good for you. But if you prefer to watch fight, sorry, you came to the wrong place.
