Among the psychological mangas that involve a lot of killing, this is probably the most realistic and logical drama. Yes I said it. The depicted parent-to-child, teenager-to-teenager, men-to-women and cyber trauma are common in East Asian cultures, so are the knife-driven conflicts between the characters. Western readers may find it hard to relate to, as women and children aren't as oppressed in society/household in the west, nor is the friendship/drinking culture as toxic. One thing I find especially realistic about this manga compared to other psychological dramas, is that childhood trauma plays a significantly lesser role than teenhood trauma as a driving force.

The resolutions to the conflicts are reasonable and mostly logical. Characters are fearful of killing and thus bond over tragedies. The overall character development and the ending are extremely romantic. It is a story about finding freedom and belongingness in the mind and the soul, and the unfortunate consequence one must suffer. It is an angry warning letter to the toxic East Asian culture and stigma.
