Time Travel has a tendency to get stuck in two pitfalls; well developed characters with a simple backdrop of time travel such as Back to the Future, or a deep dive into the mechanisms and consequences of messing with time. With Steins;Gate, though, it somehow manages to create a perfectly ept time travel story with top tier character writing and scientific formulas.
The series does fall into its own set of pitfalls such as slow pacing and needless complexity, however, these flaws don't poke holes into the heart of the show. This is an anime made for fans of sci-fi adventures, and if you are one, you'd be doing a disserve to yourself by not giving it a watch.
