Preliminary (8/11 eps)
And in the end, only the music remained.

BSD offered high hopes when it started. Beautiful artistic direction with nuanced colours, a down to earth but sophisticated plot and amusing characters.

As the seasons moved forward, colours turned flashier, plot more generic and characters became caricatures of themselves .

If a character stands out, whether it is by personality of appearance, such elements lust be be explainable by the plot.

Once I started asking myself why a character spoke, acted or dressed in a specific way, and the only answer I could find was "because it looks cool"... BSD started to collapse for me.

BSD had an interesting idea but its reluctance to go over the details will always stand as a major obstacle.

Having everything justified by appearance or aesthetic is a solid definition of superficial.

Looking back, I realise the only element which kept me hooked to the show was the soundtrack. Each opening and ending set an amazing atmosphere the story wasn't able to capitalise on.

The simple but clever trick to play the ending a few seconds before the episode's end to create a dramatic effect has to be given credits to.

Without the music, I would have dropped BSD a long time ago. It enabled me to discover an amazing band, and for this reason, I will remain thankful towards the show.

I wrote a review for the first season exposing my doubts but leaving room for hope.

I sadly think the show ended on the wrong side of the coin. It isn't bad.
But it's forgettable, which is sometimes even worst.
