First of all, I just want to say that very few animes make me want to write a review. The fact that I indeed did write one only proves that I do honestly love this anime.

-BASIC PLOT-
Now, back to the main topic. Rosario + Vampire is your average harem/shounen (I'd say it's more of a harem. There's more googly-eyed, cheesiness than action) with a weak, helpless guy being surrounded by big chested/cute girls, and is always making mistakes and being sexually harrassed by having boob hats or having his arm hugged by boobs...

-STORY- (6/10)
Aono Tsukune, an average highschool boy fails his grade and ends up having to retake it again next year. By sheer coincidence, his father picks up an acceptance letter to Youkai Academy. Excited as him and his parents are for his first day, he finds himself on a shady, stay-the-fuck-out mountainside just infront of a forest bordering the school. On his way there, he gets ran over with a bike by Akashiya Moka, who later reveals is a vampire...

The story did, in my opinion got boring at times -- I found myself skipping through an episode or two in order to cut to the chase. Sometimes the episode was filled with repetition that really wasn't needed, and saved me 5-10 minutes.

-ART/SOUND- (7/10)
The art (character wise) looked a bit old, or amatuerly drawn especially for an anime which came out in 2008. This is only my personal opinion. Usually, the only time I see this kind of anime is in old American-made hentai (which generally suck... hard), though at certain angles the character's designs looked nice. As for the scenery, it did look very detailed but just like the character art, it did seem a bit retro.
The sound was good, but I personally did not like some of the voice acting of the Japanese dub. For some characters, like Auno, it didn't seem to fit with his character.

-CHARACTER- (8/10)
The character's personalities are very different from one another, and when they're all put together in a group it's quite cute how all of their opinions and emotions clash together.

Tsukune - An innocent, and defenceless teenager who is very clumbsy about what he does, and has a hard time understanding people's obvious feelings (common in harem). He feels as though he is a minority at his school, and having a group of girls defend him only makes him feel worse. Though, when he is serious about something, he is determined and strong.

Moka - Moka is kind hearted vampire who is living as two different people. The pink haired, kind hearted, shy, cute Moka you generally see is a personality which was created in order to hold the second Moka using the Rosarie on her neck. The other Moka is a silver haired, mellow, intimidating, cute-in-a-scary-way personality. She is generally reffered to as "the REAL Moka" among her family -- this is revealed in Rosario + Vampire Capu 2. This Moka comes out whenever there is a battle, Tsukune is always the one to remove the rosarie (wether on accident or on purpose).

Kurumu - Kurumu is a succubus, a creature that uses their bodies and special ability called "Charm" to bend the will of the opposite sex. Though at first, she may seem like the evil type, it is later revealed that she is indeed a nice girl. Kurumu is generally the flirty type, and she seems to love suffocating Tsukune with her boob-trench.

SIDENOTE: Yukari and Kurumu often playfully argue with eachother about boob size. Yukari taunts Kurumu saying "they will get saggy when you get older, I still have a long time till I grow up!" And so starts an argument. Though in reality, Kurumu seems to love Yukari like a little sister.

Yukari - Yukari is a witch... need I explain what a witch might POSSIBLY be? In the beginning of her appearance in the anime, she seems like an arrogant brat who cares about no ones feelings, and only her own enjoyment. Later on though, she reveals her feelings and why she treats everyone poorly and eventually befriends the main characters.

-ENJOYMENT- (8/10)
I enjoyed this anime very much. It made me laugh, facepalm, and feel embarrased for a few characters at times. Though I think this anime wont be enjoyable to some if they're picky about character personality and story line.

Overall, I give this anime an 8/10.
