Mixed Feelings
Spoiler
- I entered the movie as a devoted fan of the original anime series and expected a grand conclusion Kill Bill style, only to leave feeling utterly disappointed.

- Naoyoshi Shiotani's directing style makes this look like Psycho-Pass prequel and fails to capture any essence of Blood - C. The movie lacked the gritty, visceral feel that made the original series so captivating.

- Rather than building upon the rich lore and character development of the original material, the movie choose to focus on a generic authoritarian regime with heavy-handed messages about internet security and free speech. It felt like a missed opportunity to delve deeper into the complex world of Blood - C.

- Saya felt strangely static and devoid of emotion, failing to evoke the same level of investment and empathy as in the original series. While it's true that her character had moments of detachment in her Old Ones form, here, her actions and obsession with Fumito felt more like a plot device than genuine character development.

- The supporting cast also suffered from a lack of depth in their development, with many characters seemingly seeking surrogate parental figures.

- The iea of combining the new age of the internet with classic folk tales, while initially intriguing, ultimately fell flat. Watanuki cameo failed to make a significant impact or provide meaningful insight into the themes being explored.

- Hacking seemed to be the go-to solution for every problem, with characters effortlessly typing random words on a keyboard to solve complex issues. This reliance on a tired trope felt lazy and uninspired.

- Certain characters, like Kutou, felt shoehorned into the story, seemingly included solely to showcase A-list voice actors rather than serving any meaningful purpose within the plot. This lack of cohesion only served to further dilute the already convoluted storyline.

- While there were some intriguing plot twists, they ultimately lacked sufficient explanation, leaving viewers scratching their heads and wondering "why?" The lack of clarity surrounding Fumito's motives and actions left much to be desired and diminished the impact of his character.

- The CGI, touted by the producers as a highlight of the film, was instead a glaring distraction and look absolute garbage.

- The movie overall is fine but this is such a missed opportunity to do something greater.
