They are very similar in the setting but have different plotlines
The biggest flaw was that it started too slow.
It took too long warming up and the final boss battle was too early.

There are two types of antagonists- "The Final Boss" and his sub-bosses who last for a full arc and "The Forgotten" that only last for one episode and are forgotten. This type of anime usually have episodic plots involving "the forgotten" since they don't require flashback plotlines and continue in the present. But this anime used The forgotten as well as the final boss who lasted for only 2 episodes since episodes were spent on forgotten the main boss didn't get much screen time and since what happened to him there's no hope for a second season(tabun) IF ONLY it had gotten a full 24ep cour
Most of the animes with a group as main cast rely on past flashback arcs to build the base of a character they require a 2-cour(24-26ep) series to explain the plot holes as well as progressing the anime. For a standalone 12 episode anime the characters were really well built. None of the recurring cast had any plot holes. Even the father-in-law and wife characters were well built even though they were a part of story setup only.
The recurring antagonists that are not on a single episode basis were not defined well such as- The Chapel organisation, the nun,
Trade Union shishodou-san. They were poorly built Their pilot entries were great if given time(>12ep) they would have made great evils.
