Its the only anime were the slow pacing improves the story immensely, it helps expand the world, have more character interactions, explore magic more while slowly leading to frieren's goal (not going to spoil it). The flashbacks are all great, it shows frieren interacting with the party of heroes (usually relevant interactions with the plot of the episode).

Frieren is has by far one of the greatest female casts in all of anime (this and kingdom are top 2), it has frieren who is a very good protagonist, fern a good side-kick (she is frieren's robin), the girls i forgot the names of who are all very strong and interesting and also the male cast isn't lacking either there is stark, himmel, the corrupt priest, eisen and many more, the only issue i have is that they don't smile i cant understand how such a lighthearted anime (outside of that scene with the female demon) has characters that rarely smile.

Frieren is basically avatar the last airbender but with magic, no avatar and no war, now is it the best anime of all time? no but it definetely deserves the 9.37 rating the show currently has i have nearly 0 complains to make the biggest problem i have is that frieren didnt fight that old dude at the final episode and as a dragon ball fan it hurt me very deeply
