Fast forward to the present, I was excited when I knew that animasx was going to air Yu yu hakusho. While the first five episodes were good, The rest of the episodes failed to meet my expectation.
It might be becausethe quality of the animation and art is pale in comparison with today's anime like Bleach, One Piece . Try comparing Botan with Rukia and Nami. The standart has become higher.
Not because I have watched this anime before. I still enjoyed watching dragonball, It has been airing at a tv station in my tv station in my country and still love watching the fight been songoku and pikoro.
Maybe because akira toriyame paid detailed attention to every character design , I still think Freezer , vegeta and cell look very col. While the author of yu yu hakusho seemed to be very lazy , most of the enemies look like Kurama in different outfits. one of the biggest foe was just an terminator look alike.
I watched this anime years ago , back then it was one of my favorite movie, non stop action action, sword battles . Eventhough it was aired at the same with dragon ball , Yu yu hakusho managed to leave a deep impression on me. If i had to review this anime years ago I would have0 given it 10

It didn't help that the story mainly takes place in an island tournament, Dragon ball also started as a tournament anime, but the story quickly evolved and the setting was in different places, Meanwhile Yu yu Hakusho stucked in a moment.
