Spoiler
This show is just as problematic as the genre it tries to parody. The premise is gross: some company sends magical creatures to coerce unwilling teenagers into dating, for the sake of increasing the birth rate in Japan. Yes, you read that right! Through blackmail, manipulation and contrivance, a group of teens get forced together so that the MC can be put through one otome trope after another. Some of the characters are annoying by design, and remain so throughout the show. The MC complains loudy about the situations she gets put into, but ultimately it all gets glossed over as she befriends the other characters and stops worrying about the fact that they are all getting manipulated into liking her. Developing friendships become the rug everything else gets swept under. The show ends with the magical creatures repeating the same problematic patterns and readying themselves to cause more harm, namely by attaching themselves to a stalker. Honestly I don't understand why anyone is rating this show positively. This is a show that capitalizes on common tropes without giving any thought to the message underneath. How can the bar be this low?
