Fire Force S2 continues its firebending adventures with a smidgen more quality, along with improvements to story and characters. It may not quite reach the highs of some other shounen, but it's definitely solidified itself as a strong title.

Animation / Art / General Visuals - 8/10
-----------------------------------------------

There is variance from episode to episode, but when it's good, it's really good. Great visuals along with some really impressive fight coordination makes for some amazing spectacles in key episodes.

Sound / Music / Voice Acting - 8/10
------------------------------------------

Very solid. OP and ED are great, though there isn't much stand out music during the show itself. Still, good marks across the board.

Story - 9/10
-------------

The story has really taken off in S2. What felt weird and underdeveloped in S1, has gotten much needed expansions. We learn more about the history of the world, what happened, why it happened, and what the mysterious villain is really trying to accomplish.

The story sees our protagonists branch out their adventures across the sea, into the dark hidden underbelly of the city, as well as into the private sector. Many of the big players are expanded upon, and the worldbuilding is taken a notch further.

There are still some plot holes here and there, inconsistencies, as well as some rather weird revelations, but all in all, S2 has been a lot more exciting with its developments.

Characters - 8/10
---------------------

The cast remains largely the same, though there are more new faces joining up. And they're all quite good. Each character has their own distinct personalities, most get fleshed out backstories that make sense, and it all fits nicely into the whole.

We also get expansions on most of the important cast members. More backstories, more flashback events, more present day events. Our protagonists all get stronger through believable ways. We see our heroes get special training, both from great fighters and great minds. Leading to notable developments.

It's always good to see shounen titles actually showcase training events and the power upgrades that result from that. Random power increases from love and friendship just don't hit the spot as well as something that has a proper reasoning behind it.

The roster of villains is also expanding, with more and more White-Clad members showing up, including some that REALLY get under your skin.

Total - 8/10

Fire Force S2 continues its well established pace from S1, arguably improving a little bit across the board.
