Unfortunately the story writer takes a large dump on this otherwise pretty cake. Story is badly written. Dialogues are incoherent and downright schizoid. On one occasion the hero declares his holy mission is a dud, a facade and he states his helpers are just polite in keeping up the childhood fantasy, when they played "holy mission". Then next episode the hero turns 180 degrees around and acts as his holy mission were totally serious and his helpers are supporting him for real. Same way the non-existent character progression and "story" is thrown at us as if insane asylum inmates were tasked to write the dialogues. Result is illogical, confused cacophony of contradictions and the audience is burdened to endure this insanity.
Someones dear somebody was hired - probably forcefully put there via Nepotism - to prance around as story # dialogue writer. Probably in leadership position. Then the amazing graphics team didn't care, because they did a wonderful job and they have been paid. They probably didn't care that the story writer on the team is a total Schlemiel idiot.
My fuse was blown at the seventh episode by the amassed lunacy of the story and increasingly insane acting characters. The real rating of this show is 6.00, while completely sane Berserk of Gluttony takes easily a 7.5 animelist rating. My guess is the ratings here are artificially boosted by paid reviewers, who were tasked to give 10/10 ratings no matter how they hated this badly written show..
My full respect to the Art Director and the Graphics Team on this show as they properly did their jobs!
