Watching a man build up an excellent story for a decade or more, just to throw it all away because of burnout/other reasons has been a sad sight, but not an unique scenario.
After so many rumors of Isayama changing the ending a few times, it's truly a shame that we did not get to witness his actual vision...
The animation, voice acting and sound design were all absolutely top-tier, nothing new here. The team put in a lot of effort into this adaptation, so there's nothing to complain about here.
Overall, to stay spoiler free, I'd recommend for nobody to finish watching the final special, the 1st part was still an enjoyable experience, but I'd say stay far clear away from the 2nd part and just treat the 1st part as pseudo-ending.
