"My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined" is the only way I could describe this show.
It had so much potential to be a great anime remembered for years, but halfway through, it lost its identity and charm. This led to a very muddy and disappointing ending. I have no idea how the main two leads of this series DID NOT INTERACT for the latter half of its runtime. Genuinely, what was the thought process here? The journey up till now has been nothing short of a masterpiece, following this anime for so long, just for it to end up in the dumpster has been nothing short of disappointing, to say the least...
Watching a man build up an excellent story for a decade or more, just to throw it all away because of burnout/other reasons has been a sad sight, but not an unique scenario. After so many rumors of Isayama changing the ending a few times, it's truly a shame that we did not get to witness his actual vision...
