Fairy Tail is a very simple manga that to me felt very "Dragonball" with similar themes and feelings of "Good will always conquer evil" and that friends an family are what counts the most. I would say this shounen series is very light hearted an fun compared to Bleach or even Naruto Shippuden. Its a blast to watch the fast paced fights which never feel too long or boring and are always dealt with in a shounen fashion. I would say the anime has a bit too much fan service with nearly hentai like moments with women that have breasts bigger than their heads, but I wouldn't say its the worst thing in the world. I like the characters an I feel that the show is still finding itself 260 chapters in which can be good if it leads to a satisfying story. I would take the manga for what it is and enjoy it as what it is. Which is a simple story with warm heart filled moments, awesome action, and a few laughs. Its not meant to be too complicated which I find nice because not everything needs to be that way. Overall I'd say read Fairy Tail if you grew up with Goku or are new to shounen anime as its a fun series that keeps you entertained while not being so plot involved you'd get lost 3 episodes in. Its simple and likes to make things fast, fun, and funny so remember that when you're watching or reading this series.
