Jinta had a friend called Menma, and they were all a part of a friend group with others. Menma has died in her childhood but Jinta keeps seeing her.
The anime is first Jinta trying to convince Menma that she is there, and then fulfill Menma's wishes.
It is very sad though. I thought it was another SoL comedy, how very wrong I was.
There certainly was a joke here and there but really nothing that supercedes the sadness.
It was akin to Clannad S1.
This is the 2nd show ever to make me cry, so congrats Anohana!
Menma was such a sad character, like even when she is there I felt so so bad for her.
The goddamn smile she made when Jinta called her ugly during their childhood, holy crap. That smile, its hiding so so so much pain.
The animation quality is alright, nothing special. Also I knocked a point down for the story as while it is amazing and made me cry, that's really only like the last 2 episodes that were sad sad. The rest of the season was sad for sure but not that sad.
Clannad AS though, I cried for like most of the season.
The Music is AMAZING.
I was shocked when I heard Galileo in the OP as I have been listening to them for over a year. ITs a good OP for sure.
The ED though...
