Drenched in pastel shades with a distinctively cute art style, this anime might first appear as a typical heartwarming slice-of-life series. However, as the episodes roll on, certain consistent undertones become hard to brush aside.

The central fox deity, despite her age-old backstory, is presented with a jarringly childlike appearance and behavior. This heavy lean into the 'loli' trope, complete with recurrent jokes about her youthful demeanor, can detract from the intended comforting theme and make for some uneasy viewing moments.
