fuck this film so much, as a professional film editor this film makes me so mad, if you are not familiar with the film industry you may not mind it but this film is so contrived and based on complete bullshit i cant not be mad, to start we have a guy who doesn't really do editing and is just passionate about filmaking and is just a helper who is then made to direct a feature film which is apparently meant to be big, from the films perspective it makes it out that the studio is small with not much of a budget which is why they get some no name actor to be the main lead, the problems arise when they announce that the director will also be the editor, this would never happen in any feature film unless its an indie film where the process takes years and years but for this they act like the film is gonna be done in less than a year, which is pretty much impossible for 1 editor to do especially immediately after directing, they then announce they need pickup shots and announce a fundraiser for it and they go all emotional and shit about it and it just so happens they make like a shit ton of money for it, first off if the company was well known they probably would have gotten funding already from investors, and if it wasn't well known no one would have funded this crap because no one would have no idea what it is, getting films funded this way is very rare and only usually happens for people who already have an audience like youtubers who then promote their films, and they are usually a lot cheaper than what they were asking and not just 1 extra scene, they also usually get the film with the backing of it, anyway they get the funding and finish the film and apparently its so damn good that they win every fucking academy award there is, this is the most obnoxious ending i have ever seen, idk what the director of this film was thinking, no one actually believes any film would win every academy award including best actor actress director and picture, it just would never happen, its just completely over the top for the sake of it and doesn'thelp the story at all, a more interesting story is they get the film done and it barely makes money but it gains a cult following of some kind, not every known human on planet earth thinking its the greatest film ever made even though its meant to be an indie low budget film which in reality barely anyone would actually see.
