An intimate portrayal of humanities relationship with nature and technology and it’s inability to fully understand or respect either. Seen through the innocent eyes of two young girls wandering a post apocalyptic landscape with little knowledge of what they’re witnessing. Quiet, heartfelt, and at times emotional. Considering the themes of war and hatred, it’s not as dark as you may assume. The aesthetic is tightly wound, and although the scenery can be grey and repetitive it never feels dull or lazy, rather it feels lived in and honest. I also believe this to be one of the most accurate views of a post apocalyptic future I’ve seen any media. The characters are lovely and the relationship between them more so. The ignorance the main characters have of their surroundings and history give for a wholesome and simple look on heavy and deep concepts. I would die for them and protect them with my life, though honestly they’d probably be the ones protecting. A masterpiece, the last episode had me in tears.
