Detective Conan Movies Rewatch Before Watching Movie 26: Movie 25
This movie was just cliche upon cliche, cheesy moments upon cheesy moments...yet I loved every second of it. Movie 25 fully embraces "character" as the central focus and created the most emotional DC movie ever (so far, I have yet to see M26). Friendship, romance, tragedy, anger, betrayal, there were plenty of dynamic relationships shown throughout the movie, yet all were balanced well. None of the major characters introduced were marginalized, all were treated with care. Then, the soundtrack of the movie was superb. Yugo Kanno took over from the legendary Katsuo Ono and brought over a completely different style. While the soundtrack can be cheesy at times, it was memorable and accentuated some of the emotional moments throughout the movie.
The case itself was good despite a lack of tricks, as the investigation process was set up well and logically. If there was only one negative thing I would say about the movie, I would say it's the climax, which is more nonsensical than ever, as DC movies have to one-up the predecessor.
Overall, for me, as a long-time DC fan that has grown to love the characters, this movie was like a Halloween treat. What a great movie. 9/10
