First of all it's been a fun experience watching Lawerence's and Holo's travels. Seeing an anime with a merchant instead of a student or idealistic character is a refreshing experience though even an interesting concept can be ruined by a poor execution. Spice and Wolf in my opinion is not one those poor executions.

Honestly I don't have much to say about what I dislike about the series. Lawerence's and Holo's dynamic didnt feel all that special at the start of the series but over time it felt like they had something special. At the times arguments between the characters seem overdramatized to some extent.

What did I like is how Lawerence isn't portrayed as some prodigy or super merchant but as a regular person who makes mistakes. Not one or two but a lot of them, makes him feel more human like. I also feel like Holo is an accurate depiction of a supernatural being instead of those who just fall in love with a human (cough cough Ristarte from overly cautious hero cough cough). I also liked how brute force isn't the answer to any of the situations.

Overall, Spice and Wolf is a nice break from all the slice of life, romcom, and action anime out there. Though I would say it's not for everyone because there's a lot of talk about economics, profit, and loss. It can very well go over your head if you're not willing to pay attention to what's going on. It's also not for the people who like morally good mcs because there is a lot of greed in this show. I will give spice and wolf season one 10/10 and season two 9/10.
