So the thing is it kinda makes you feel stop watching it at start and what feel is that its because they are setting things up. They gave flashbacks to I think almost everyone and told how they ended up where they ended up. It's just that in many animes they do this in very early episodes and the story starts moving side by side whilst here the story was moving slowing. I don't know how the manga is (and I prefer to not read cause I am anime only in and out)in terms of this but I will say this, this is just weak screenplay or adaption of the source material. Well given the production that MAPPA had for this we can see from the anime's animation quality, the background score etc. Don't get me wrong the animation is still good but not upto the mark MAPPA has been known for recently. They really did set a benchmarks so that now if any of the new anime's animation quality is not like that it's gonna end up as a bad.
So yeah just stick to through the end and you'll know why it has 8 in rating.
This anime really has everything which needs an anime to be big and popular. MAPPA only needs to work on their production and start giving more time to their staff from directors to animators to someone who's gonna compose music.
