First and foremost, if you're deciding to pick this up, I suggest going in completely blind and with an open mind. Definitely makes it more hilarious. If you're a rebel, read on.

Ok so i absolutely love the message, but the irony is that I am not able to fully connect with this anime. I thought it was a well done and bizarre take on the idea that people are social creatures who seek out connections, despite the inherently difficult nature of creating attachments. Usually we're so guarded with our secrets, and we believe that hiding those secrets will help connections, but it's really the opposite. Also, I enjoyed how selfish desires can turn toxic and be manipulated to destroy connections as well. I wasn't expecting such a silly show about buttholes and kappa's to make me think and truly appreciate its message. Also, how fickle and fragile connections are, and while I wasn't connected with the characters, they did a good job of sticking together and choosing to weather the inevitable heartache of creating connections just to keep the ones they had.

The art was actually very impressive. I can say for a fact that this anime was unlike any other I have watched, but I am open to the idea of watching more shows like this. The ability to tell deep meanings while touching dark subject matters, while still having a well maintained silly and bizarre atmosphere deserves my appreciation.
